I love belly dancing, modern, tap, jazz, ballet, ballroom, african, latin (rumba, salsa, tango, etc). My size keeps me from doing a lot of the fancier stuff, but, I still love it! I only realized a couple of years ago that it doesnt' matter your size, dance is the most exquisite and delightful form of self-expression that the human body has! Dance is an artform unto itself, and I'm pleased to say I have finally discovered this truth.
I never was encouraged to dance, to sing, to create any kind of art. But today, one of my favorite things is to listen to incredible music and move my body. Dance isn't something anyone should be ashamed of, regardless of their size.
I hope to network, make friends and find more places to enjoy the great music, and more importantly, to dance!
